We aRe REvved up!

Katie - vocals

Katie is a Minnesota native from St. Paul who moved back home after spending the majority of her adult life in Tennessee and Texas. She has been actively singing since the age of 5. She graduated from UMD with a bachelor’s degree in vocal music education. Life brought her to Nashville, TN for 5 years and over 8 years in Austin, Texas thereafter. She is a former elementary music teacher of over a decade. These days, she’s a pension professional, wife and mom by day but has always been a Rock Star by night! Some of her most exciting musical endeavors include opening for Books & Dunn at WeFest, winning the Tennessee State Fair Talent Competition, and having various studio recording opportunities, including one for the movie Ned Venture. She has enjoyed performing in several bands throughout the Austin, Texas area including the all female band Ready Betty where she sang co-lead vocals and played trumpet. She has been a member of the bands JOYRIDE and Lipstick-N-Dynamite since relocating back to the Twin Cities. Katie’s first love was singing country music but discovered joy in expanding her vocal repertoire through jazz, rock and pop. She is ready to start her next musical chapter and venture into some seriously FUN music from her high school days in to the current hits of today. Katie is very honored and excited to join the party with Revved UP!

Tuney - Vocals

Tuney comes to us as an experienced vocalist with a three octave range, which developed over her 35-year vocal career. Singing in school choirs and ensemble groups from elementary grades through high school, she eventually landed a vocal scholarship with the University of Minnesota. Continuing in that vein, Sara pursued musical theater locally and nationally, and had many varied opportunities in singing, choreography, and directing as well as appearing in a handful of films before gigging with the bands StarFish and Morning Glory, both out of the Twin Cities.  After playing for some years while working in education as a teacher, and entering the world of parenting, Sara decided to return to  “band life” and is excited to be performing again.

Alex - Guitar

Alex, a UK-born Italian, is truly an international musical maverick. His journey began with a bass guitar in hand, rocking out in the 80s and 90s alongside semi-pro bands DRUM and THE MOTHERLOAD. He had the honor of opening for legends like Def Leppard and Iron Maiden—yes, he's practically a rock historian! An opportunity presented itself to play on a number of UK TV shows for Solo Artist Alison Moyet (formerly of Yazoo). He then joined a Blues / Funk Band BLEEDING HARP opening for legends such as BB King As the dream of rock stardom danced away like a dodgy note, Alex transitioned into the corporate world and IT, all while juggling parenting duties. Playing became a hobby but continued to play with cover bands across rock, funk, and pop. Relocating to the US in 2015, he took a break to switch from 4 to 6 strings (self-taught, of course!) and (based on he believes his bass playing experience) is more a "feel" player—quality over quantity is his motto. Revved Up is just his second band since crossing the pond, and he’s excited to reconnect with the joy of live music and bring some much-needed entertainment. Get ready to rock, folks—Alex is back!

Cal - Drums

Calvin, more affectionately known as “Fun Cal”, was born in Chicago and raised in Minnesota, where he began playing drums at the age of 12. Today, Cal is known in the industry for his hard work and dedication to his craft. In addition, Cal has played with a variety of popular bands all around the region for many years. With an eclectic background in music and drumming, he enjoys playing Blues, Rock, Country and the music of today. Cal is certainly the steady rhythm that keeps this train rollin’!

Beetle - Keys

Beetle (David) hails from St. Paul. Early on Beetle diddled on the organ for 10 years, and also sang in choirs and musical productions while experiencing adolescence. Beetle formed his first band in High School called “Destiny”, which appeared on the local TV talent show “Discoverama”. As he grew, he ventured into playing in various bands including Shooze, The Paperboys, Full Circle, 100 Watt Jones, Rock Brigade, Pop Syndrome, Distilled and a duo called The 2 Fat Bastards. Beetle admits that his guilty pleasure is Frankie Vallie and the Four Seasons, and although that isn’t the current vein of direction for this project… Beetle is honored and excited to be joining such an awesome group as Revved UP!!!!!!!!

Ringo - Bass

Steve, who also goes by Ringo, has been a bass player since he was 10 years old. He has played many styles of music over his long career starting with classical, then moving to metal and ending in instrumental surf rock (they say variety is the spice of life)! Ringo has spent the last 16 years in the Minnesota-based band, Big Surf, who have done extensive gigging along with six recordings. Steve shares he is very excited to move on to this next project with Revved UP!
